Dear users of SasView,

It has been over a year since our last SasView release, and we are now preparing for a 4.2 release. As part of th at process, we have now released a 4.2.0-Beta version, available as a “Pre -release” on the releases page at: https://github.com/Sa sView/sasview/releases.  With 4.2 the transition to a plugin archit ecture for models should be complete as should the refactor of the orientati onal representation/calculation for 2D oriented particles. By now many of you on this list may already have be en using a 4.2 development version.  As we move towards a new release, we would greatly appreciate any testing you or your friends and colleagues c an do on this beta version and any feedback you can give as we prepare for the full final release of 4.2.0.

For th ose willing and interested in contributing, note that the next code camp is being held starting Septembe r 3 this year in Lund.  If interested in joining us feel free to visit the wiki at http://trac.sasview.org /wiki/CodeCampVIII and drop us a line. All skills sets are welcome. Besi des various levels of coding and sysadmin skills, we also need people who ca n help review, edit, and create user documentation as well as work on the tutorials projects, verify the m ath etc etc.
